Over the past decade, menswear evolution continues to establish standards in men’s fashion industry and for the past couple of seasons more and more attention to style, design details, branding and marketability was taken into account and thus pushed the envelope of men’s fashion and style.
Y’all would agree that both young and adult men(with a wide-range of age groups) became more specific and unique with their own style. Celebrity fashion and style influences to younger generations: One Direction, Justin Timberlake and K-Pop popstars; to more mature generations: Nate Ruess, Kanye West, Pharell, Ryan Gosling – just to name a few; and locally we have the Best Dressed guys – Enchong Dee, Xian Lim, the Gutierrez twins, Tom Rodriguez and a hand-pick of matinee idols. Where their team of talented stylists plays a major role, fashion designers and retail brands do have the same keen responsibility – and that is to take advantage of the style evolution, make the looks readily available to the mass market and basically keep the trend going.
This season, SM MEN’S FASHION brings us their Holiday 2013 and a preview of Spring/Summer 2014 collections which fits both young and adult men’s everyday style and fuels their fashion sense.
The collections jumpstarted at last October’s Philippine Fashion Week(PhFW) held at SMX Convention Center, total of six Holiday 2013 and two Spring/Summer 2014 collections were showcased and I must say quite possibly one of the best fashion shows(if not THE best) I’ve ever witnessed – the promotion, the revolver-inspired runway and the overall production was truly grand and remarkable.
British supermodel David Gandy briefly graced the runway marking his campaign as the new face of the brand and is now featured on every SM stores nationwide.
Casual, modern and stylishly masculine – SM MEN’S FASHION brings the fashion A-game in the uprising of men’s fashion in the country.

We are no longer looking at a basic sportswear or formal wear, the pieces themselves are a stand-out, mostly fashion-forward and form-fitting, and the great thing about the collections is that guys are given the freedom, or to some a curious case, of mixing and matching the garments for their desired looks.
